Hand picked from low yielding bush vines, this wine is a medium bodied style Grenache showcasing the elegant fruit these old vines produce. Partial whole bunch ferment and maturity in larger seasoned French oak puncheon barrels further adds perfume & layers of complexity while still giving the wine structure and texture.
All fruit was hand picked and fermented as whole bunches (20%) in small open top fermenters for 12 days. The wine then spent time in old French oak puncheons for ten months prior to bottling
Lots of fresh and juicy red berry fruit flavours including cherries and raspberries, plus Turkish delight and delicate spice. The tannins are fine and silky and the wine finishes with vibrancy
Estate grown bush vine Grenache with a vine age of 70 years. Cropping is a mere 1.5 tonnes per acre.
